Billy Wade was the 1963 NASCAR Rookie of the Year for car owner Cotton Owens. He finished the season with 14 Top 10 finishes in 31 races. He started the �64 season off with Owens again but after just four races moved to Bud Moore�s Mercury Team, where he later that season won 4 races in a row in the space of 20 days. Sadly Wade was killed in a tire test at Daytona in �65 when a tire blew and he hit the west turn wall.
