#27 Jimmy Florian 1950 Ford
- 5/9/2015
Shirtless Jimmy Florian, gave Ford its first ever NASCAR victory in 1950. No one could believe that he could beat the likes of Curtis Turner, Bill Rexford, and Lee Petty, in their powerful Oldsmobiles, and Mercs, and him driving a flathead Ford. So much so, that they protested the win. But the car passed post-race inspection and was deemed legal. The car belonged to the Chief of police in Detroit. Euclid Ford acquired the car and Jimmy drove it. The site of the win was Dayton Speedway in Ohio. It just happened to be Jimmys home track. He knew it better than all the rest and outdrove them, shirtless.
