SCF2503 #89 Joe Caspolich 1957 Ford at the Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway

Mississippi short track star Joe Caspolich made his debut on the NASCAR Cup circuit in the Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway driving a 1957 Ford for car owner Pappy Crane. There wasn�t much left of the car, though, after Caspolich spun in turn three while racing for the lead on lap 66, and was t-boned in the driver�s door. Caspolich survived the wreck, and ran seven more races through the 1961 season, and was also chosen as one of the stunt drivers for the 1960 racing movie �Thunder in Carolina.�
