Curtis Turner made his first Nascar start at Darlington on September 6th, 1965 after a four-year suspension by Nascar for trying to get the Union involved in racing. Turner drove a 1965 Plymouth Belvedere owned by Sam Fletcher in his comeback race. He stated 8th , but dropped out early.
